Get To Know Me

I haven't written a blog post for just over a week now so I thought what would be better than to make a blog allowing you to get to know me just a little bit more. I've made about 15 questions but if you have any more don't be afraid to ask me.
1. Why did you start a blog?
It's quite simple really. About a year ago I came to the decision it was time to start writing again. I didn't want to just start writing a story straight away, I needed to get some practice in. Writing a blog would be perfect practice and it would help me know what sort of thing people like.
2. What is the best book you have ever read?
I think it would be quite a struggle to pick just one book. For a start I absolutely love the Harry Potter books and often like listening to the audiobooks for them. One of my other favourite books is The French Gardener written by Santa Montefiore. The storyline to it was incredible and I think it's just one book I could easily read again.
3. Who is your favourite author?
I have a number of authors whose books I love reading and keep an eye out for when the next one comes out. The first one is Peter James, I love reading his Roy Grace series. The second author I love is Giovanna Fletcher, my favourite book of hers so far is Dream A Little Dream. I'm sure I will also be adding Carrie Hope Fletcher to the list soon enough as well once I've read her latest book On The Other Side.
4. What is your favourite movie?
There's so many to choose from. My ultimate favourite is Forrest Gump. I can't quite describe why but I just think Tom Hanks does a wonderful job in this film. I also love Never Been Kissed and 10 Things I Hate About You.
5. Who is your biggest inspiration?
My inspiration came about last year in May. I read a book written by Carrie Hope Fletcher called All I Know Now. The book is aimed at 13 - 19 year olds and is a sort of help guide to growing up and "surviving" high school and the dramas of friendship and boys. Part of the book said about how a "friend" of Carrie's would complain about how lucky Carrie was for winning competitions and getting her dream job but Carrie pointed out about this other girl wouldn't enter any competitions to be able to win them. She went on to say if there is something in this life that you want you should go out of your way to get that thing. It made me realise in that moment that I would never have a book out unless I actually sat and wrote one. For that reason Carrie Hope Fletcher is my biggest inspiration. My boyfriend also falls into this category. He has always been there for me and always supported every decision I've made. He has also recently gone out of his way to change his career path.
6. What is your favourite TV show?
At this moment in time my favourite TV show is Once Upon A Time. If you have never heard of it you need to go and watch it now. It's about all the fairytale characters you could ever think of. They get stuck in the human world and there only hope is Emma. The problem is will Emma believe the truth and save them?
7. What is your favourite season of the year?
I absolutely love the winter. I like the cold weather, I like going Christmas shopping in the cold and coming home jumping in a nice warm bath and drinking a nice hot cup of tea. I love that Christmas is in the winter and I love Christmas. It truly is the best time of the year. The only thing I'd like more about winter is if I lived somewhere where it snowed more often. We don't tend to get much snow in the UK so I'd like just a little bit more of it.
8. What made you want to write books?
I've always wanted to write a book ever since I first read a Jacqueline Wilson book. I always wanted to have books like hers out in Waterstones. As a child I would write my own stories and had a folder full of them. I think I still have that folder somewhere. My love for writing never truly went away but it was only as an adult I decided I was going to make a good go of it. Like I said in question five Carrie Fletcher helped me make that decision.
9. How often will you write blog posts?
I want to start writing blog posts more regularly. I would preferably like to start writing two blog posts a week. I would like to start posting on Wednesdays and Sundays.
10. What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream (if you haven't guessed it by now) is to become a proper author. I would like my own books on the shelves in any book shop you can think of. I would love for writing to become my full time job.
11. What is your favourite song?
At the minute I can't stop listening to is Send My Love by Adele. I love Adele and this song is just so addictive.
12. Who is your favourite band/artist?
Ever since I was about 11 I have loved Busted. Then Mcfly came along and I fell in love with this band just as much as Busted. I was gutted when Busted broke up but when Mcbusted formed I thought it was the best thing ever. I also love Good Charlotte and Green Day. One band I've recently started listening to is Pink Floyd.
13. Do you judge a book by its cover?
I know you should never judge a book by its cover but I do this a little more often then I'd like to. I can't help it. Whenever I go to Tesco I have a look at what books they have in stock and quite often I pick up the ones where the cover looks the most interesting.
14. If you had to live somewhere else in the world where would you go?
I would love to go somewhere hot and sunny like Spain or Cyprus. Either that or I'd go to America.
15. What genre of book are you writing?
I'm writing a nice little romance story.
If there is anything else you'd like to know don't be afraid to ask.
