It's officially February which means Valentine's Day is right around the corner. It's time to start thinking about what to do with your loved one for the day. I'm here to help you out with ten wonderful ideas on how to have the best date possible.
1. Recreate your first date
Rated pretty high on the "romantic gestures scale" this is guaranteed to impress your significant other. It does require a good memory and quite a bit of work to make it right. It will be well worth it. Walk down the same street where you first kissed, have a couple of drinks in that old coffee shop where you had your first drinks together and head to that restaurant where you shared your first meal together.
2. A romantic weekend getaway
If you are looking for a change of scenery and an escape from the stressful worklife there is nothing better than a romantic weekend away. Take some time away for privacy, get some room service and spend quality time with your loved one.
3. Spend the day driving around the city and visit new places
This is geared towards couples that have been together for a few years and are looking for some new experiences. Visit a few cool coffee places on the other side of town, check out interesting restaurants you've never been to and consider going to see a play.
4. Go on a hot-air balloon ride
These are fun and romantic. You get an incredible view, get to experience the thrill of flying and you've got enough room for a romantic picnic and some champagne. Just make sure to wear warm clothes, it can get pretty cold high up in the air.
5. A relaxing day at the spa
Treat yourselves, your body, mind and senses to a relaxing day at the spa. You and your partner will feel fresh, comfortable and relaxed.
6. Go to a concert
There are a whole bunch of things happening around Valentine's Day so go online and check out what's happening near you. You'll surely be able to find tickets for a cool concert or some type of festival.
7. Be spontaneous
Say no to plans, reservations and clichés. Jump into the car with your partner, have your credit card ready and just go out and have fun. Make a day of it and do something you've wanted to do for a while.
8. Create a scavenger hunt
Everyone loves a surprise especially when it involves romance. Start the day with a romantic text telling her/him what to wear and the first clue of where to go. End the day at your partner's favourite restaurant.
9. Go to a comedy show
Laugh the night away with a Valentine's Day themed show at a local comedy club.
10. Lock the door, turn off your phones and enjoy each others company
Focus on each other and block out the outside world. Cook a romantic meal with candles and watch your favourite film. Enjoy romantic quality time together.
With whatever you choose to do have the best Valentine's Day and make it a memorable one.
