New Years Resolution Update

  • Jul 31, 2016
  • 2 min read

Usually by now I've forgotten what my new years resolutions even were. This year I can remember what they were thanks to Tumblr. Seeing as we are over halfway through the year I thought it would be fun to look back at what they were and how I'm getting on with them. Here's what they were:

1. Lose weight - not just lose weight but I want to lose 3 stone by the end of 2016. This year I'm going to work my butt off to get this weight off regardless of what others think of me.

Oh what a fail so far. From January to the middle of February I was doing great. Then it all fell apart. I'm back on my diet now and back to running so hopefully I can lose something more than 4lbs by the end of the year.

2. Run 400 miles - I want to run 400 miles by the end of 2016. It's not going to be easy. I know that but I'm willing to work hard to get it done.

I absolutely over estimated what I could run. Is it too late to change this number? I'd be happy if I could run 150 mikes by the end of the year.

3. Finish writing my book - in 2015 I started my first novel and I really want to get it finished.

I'm still a long way off from finishing it but it is still something I'm aiming for.

4. Publish said novel - once I've finished writing my book (which I will do) I want to get it published.

My faith is lowering on whether I will get it published this year but I'm still aiming for this too.

5. Travel a bit more - whether it's in my own country (UK) or another country I want to travel around that little bit more.

So far I haven't had chance to travel around more. I'm going to London at the end of August so at least that is something.

6. Continue with my 'take a photo everyday' challenge - I started this project on 29th December 2014 and I've completed a full year so I'd love to continue that journey.

I failed this challenge at the start of March. I loved this little project so I was gutted when I failed. I think its about time I pick it up again and see if I can do a better job this time.

So far I haven't done the best with my resolutions but there is still plenty of time to complete them or improve on them. Wish me luck guys.
