You Must Decide

Now we are coming to the end of the summer holidays it's time for children to start getting ready to go back to school. I thought I would write a little blog/letter to those who are entering their final year at school and college. Year 9 at school is also rather important. When you enter year 9 you have to decide what subjects you are doing to study for GCSEs. All of a sudden you feel like you're being told you need to know what you want to do for the rest of your life. But it feels even more like that when you reach year 11. During year 11 you have to start what you are going to do when you finish school. Do you go to sixth form? Do you do a college course? Do you find a job?
I'm here to tell you not to stress out too much. If you don't have a clue what you want to do as a career don't worry about it. I'm 25 years old and when I was in high school I thought I knew what I wanted in life and it turns out I was wrong. The amount of times I've changed my mind in what I want to do in life is ridiculous! In year 11 you are only 15/16 and you have plenty of time to decide what direction you want to go in. All in all I have wanted to be:
A teacher
An actress in the west end
A social worker
A baker
An author
A teaching assistant
A nursery nurse
A TV presenter
A singer either in a band or a solo artist
Just a normal office worker
And now I've finally decided at the age of 25 that I want to work on my dream of being an author. Good luck to those of you entering GCSE year, I wish you all the best but just remember don't stress too much if you don't know what you want to do in life.
