Kindle Or A Book

One of my favourite things to do is to read. I'll read just about anything when I get the chance to do so. My favourite time to read is just before I go to sleep it get me nice and relaxed. Today I thought I would discuss how I feel about kindles and whether I prefer a physical copy or a kindle.

I own a kindle fire which I was given for Christmas one year by my boyfriend. I haven't been using it lately because I've been using my iPad a bit more. I love my kindle fire as I am able to use it for more than just reading. I can listen to music, read books, play games and watch films on it. Using the kindle to read is a lot lighter to hold than a physical copy of the book. It is easy to use and it is backlit so it means I don't need to keep the lamp on to read. I am able to read using just on hand meaning I have a spare hand. The kindle is great for traveling. I took it on the plane with me to Cyprus a few years back and it was brilliant because I had a big number of books with me that I wouldn't have been able to take otherwise.

At the same time I love physical copies of the book. I love the way all my books look on my bookshelf. They add extra colour to the house. One of my favourite things about a book is that new book smell it has when you first get it. With a book you don't have to worry about charging it up so you can read it. You can get a book signed by the author which gives it more of a personal feel. With a book I know I can keep it for life but who knows if in 10 years time I will still own a kindle.

There are so many different positives and negatives for both books and kindles. I love both of them but for now I would say I prefer books. I will still use my kindle as much as I can but for now I prefer books.
