Jealousy

Every now and then we all get that stab of jealousy, a visit from that treacherous green eyed monster. Sometimes it is the little things we feel jealous over like a holiday but other times it's the bigger things we get jealous over like the news of a new baby, announcement of an engagement . Quite often though we get over these things quickly, move on and realise that our life is perfect the way it is (for now). With these bigger feelings of jealousy despite that green eyed feeling we get we congratulate those involved and wish everyone all the best because we know that they have not done anything wrong and it is our own minds causing the problem. Today I got to witness jealousy first hand, not my jealousy but somebody else. Somebody I know quite well had posted something on a social media website basically discussing someones imperfections and I know it was simply out of jealousy. I wanted to tell this person to stop what they were doing and instead of feeling jealous and belittling the other person in question that they should build that person up rather than bring that person down.

Quite often we find someone else gets something we want whether that is a new job earning more money, a new car, the deal of a lifetime. We have two choices when we receive news of someone else's good news. We can either bring that person down and tell them they aren't worthy and they don't deserve the thing they have got. Or we can build that person up, congratulate them and tell them how well they have done to receive this fantastic opportunity.

All too often women slag each other off for wearing too little clothes, wearing too much makeup, not wearing makeup at all and many more. However we shouldn't be doing this. There are probably plenty of reasons why that woman is wearing too much makeup or not wearing any at all. Rather than make these insecurities they are already feeling worse we need to make them feel better about themselves. Don't let jealousy take control over the way you act.
