Blogmas Day 1 - Dear Santa

So many people have asked me what I would like for Christmas this year and each time I have said "I don't know". How am I ever going to be able to tell the main man what I would like for Christmas. When I was younger it was much easier to decide what I wanted, with lists of toys I'd picked out of the Argos catalogue or I'd seen advertised on TV. It was always my favourite time of year, sitting down with the Argos catalogue picking things out to add on to my list for Santa. My brother told me quite early on "the truth" about Santa and I remember not being able to sleep Christmas eve and hearing my mother carrying bags of presents down for the morning. She thought I was asleep but I could hear the rustle of bags going down and her running back up for more. Now I'm older it's not so simple to make a Christmas list. You become more aware of cost and don't want to ask for anything that may be considered "expensive". Usually if there is something I want I buy it myself.

This year Santa I'd be very happy just spending the day with my boyfriend and his family. For me that is what Christmas is about, its about being around the family and filling yourself with so much food you think you are going to explode. This year I would feel a lot happier knowing all my family and friends are happy and healthy. I prefer giving presents than receiving presents. I don't require a huge expense to be spent on me at all. As much as I "need" a new laptop or would like a new camera, I'd rather enjoy the day laughing and joking with my family then playing around with a new toy distracting me from the days festivities.

Oh and I hope you have a very merry Christmas Santa.

Only 24 days to go!
