The Year of 2017

  • Dec 29, 2017

I can honestly say I've quite enjoyed the year 2017. The year has flown by as quick as they always do but I've had quite a good one for once. I went on two holidays abroad, the first one to Cyprus in June for a family wedding and the second one to Cambrils in September with my better half. I've spent plenty of time with my family and joined in with celebrating special birthdays and other special occasions. I've spent quality time with my friends and made new friends I'm able to make new memories with. I've had the best year with my boyfriend, we have made new memories to share and started a new journey in which we are looking forward to enjoying together.

As I usually do I set resolutions at the start of the year. Here is how I got on with them:

1. Drink more water - This started well and I kept it up for at least a month before it then went downhill quite rapidly. I started doing well with this goal again in the middle of November so out of 12 months I stuck to this resolution for two and a half months. Oops.

2. Lose weight - Like the first resolution I started well with this, got to my birthday and I just couldn't stick to a diet! My goal for this year was to lose 2 stone and in reality I have lost about 8lb.

3. Finish writing my book - I have been so busy this year working on different things I haven't had any time to sit and do any writing at all. I have hardly written a blog post this year let alone any of my book.

4. Fill in my question and answer book everyday - This one I have been doing! I completed all the questions this year and can't wait to see how my answers will change next year.

5. Take a photo a day for 365 days - I failed this challenge very early on. I love the app I had though and was very gutted when I kept forgetting to take photos.

6. Save £1000 by the end of the year - This didn't happen in the slightest. Things pop up in which I had to use my savings for and then it's back to being square one.

7. Read more - This year I have read less then ever before. I love reading I just haven't had time to do it.

8. Stop being lazy - Ha fat chance of this happening. I suppose in ways I'm not as lazy but in ways I'm just as lazy as before.

9. Visit my family more - I still feel I could visit them more however its finding the right time for us all to meet.

10. Say yes to more things - I have definitely said yes to way more things this year. Life is good because of it.

Overall my new year resolutions didn't go too well but I did try. I can't go back and change what I did however it is now time to make new resolutions for 2018 so lets see if some of these make a reappearance.
