This year I know I need to get myself fit and healthy through eating properly and exercising. This year I have started a new exercise challenge. My challenge for 2018 is to sweat my year, I will be working my little ass off to workout a total of 2018km for the entire year. It is going to be a lot of hard work but its not impossible to do. I will be doing weekly updates on how I'm getting on.
A week has passed already and my challenge has already started. I have a fitbit which counts my daily steps which includes how many km's I've walked that day. I won't be counting this, I'll only be counting dedicated workouts at the gym and walks I go on for the purpose of my exercise challenge.
My week so far:
1/1/18 - I went for a walk with my boyfriend. We walked a total of 3.07km.
2/1/18 - I went to the gym and did 20 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the cross trainer. I walked 1.39km on the treadmill and did 2.55km on the cross trainer.
3/1/18 - After looking at the stats from Tuesday's workout I realised I wouldn't get very far with my challenge if I stuck to my 20 minute workouts on the gym equipment. I went back to the gym and did a walk on the treadmill. I walked a total of 3.2km.
I had two rest days from the gym on the 4th and 5th Jan. It was nice to relax and have a bit of me time.
6/1/18 - I was planning on going to yoga today however the traffic was horrible and I didn't make it in time. I had to meet up with my boyfriend in the local area so I decided to go to the gym instead to pass the time. I started off on the treadmill and walked 3.01km and then ended on the cross trainer working out a total of 3.02km. A little later on in the evening we went on a very quick walk clocking up a total on 0.83km.
Calculating up all my workouts for this week I worked out a total of 17.07km, it isn't a huge amount however it is a start and it is better than nothing.
Next week I plan on going to the gym on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday so hopefully I will be able to get in quite a few km's to add up.
Wish me luck, I'm quite enjoying the challenge so far even though is has just started. I'm hoping this challenge will get me into shape and feeling a lot fitter and healthier.
